Feeling guilty for being depressed

Take a person that utilizes food to feel better. Once I eat, I feel a bit better. As soon as I feel better, that goes away and is replaced with the guilt of eating what was eaten. Feeling guilty about depression makes sense.


When You Feel Guilty About Being Depressed.

No one with the flu feels guilty for having a fever or body aches. I shouldn’t feel guilty for feeling sa numb or. Guilt is a normal feeling associated with depression.


It’s easy to spiral because you’re focused on guilt. You feel guilty for having depression (for burdening others or not being “complete”), which makes you feel worse. Then because you feel like more of a burden, you feel guiltier.


It is not your fault that you are having this experience.

Hi, you do not need to feel guilty for being depresse but I think it sometimes goes hand-in-hand with being depressed. Sure other people may have had a more difficult life than you but there are many causes of depression, some of them are genetic or chemical imbalances and those have nothing to do with what you have been through in life. The feeling that I think is the most devastating of them all: guilt. I do not go a single day without feeling guilty about my depression.


While I’m currently doing well in recovery, I still reflect on the terrible things I did when my depression was at it’s worst and make myself feel terrible for ever thinking or doing what I did. I’d be feeling guilty about everything and anything. Either that I hadn’t done enough or that I’d upset people when I hadn’t meant to or even that I should have done something differently.


I’d feel guilty about so many things and my life really did seem to be just reacting to one feeling of guilt after another. If you’re feeling unreasonably guilty or full of shame, recognize that this is not productive. Remind yourself that you’re being overly self-critical.


Be aware of the fact that, because of your depression, your thinking is skewed. No one deserves to feel plagued by guilt and shame, and this thinking will only make things worse. Things Nobody Tells You About Being Depressed.


When I screen someone to see if they have depression, I regularly ask about feeling g. We may feel guilt and shame for being depressed because we feel we are letting others down or that we are becoming a burden. It depends on your definition of being depressed.

When I get quiet and low energy I feel like it effects everybody I meet. I can see it in the faces and actions of my friends and. Being unhappy isn’t the same as being depressed.


Depression is a term often used loosely to describe how we feel after a bad week at work or when we’re going through a breakup. I understand the guilt of being depressed. For example, people with depression.


Stop feeling guilty about making mistakes. View mistakes as a learning experience.
