Types of Support Groups. Because postpartum depression can affect anyone, not just mothers, there are many types of support groups available to all. Most commonly, postpartum depression support groups support new mothers as they are the primary group affected by PPD symptoms. Support groups offer the opportunity to validate experiences, share coping strategies, and gain support and encouragement.


The volunteers running peer support groups all have firsthand experience with postpartum depression and anxiety, either personally or with a family member. Attend a Support Group Talking with other women who have survived perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, such as postpartum depression, can be extremely helpful. Talk With A Therapist – are updated every six months.

Babies newborn to months are welcome to attend. This is a FREE monthly support group open to any mothers looking to connect, get information, get support. Facilitated by clinical social workers.


The Mission of Baby Blues Connection is to provide support , information and resources to women and families coping with pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders and to the professionals who serve them. We are a self-help organization established to provide emotional support , educational information and healthcare and support group referrals to mothers suffering from prenatal and postpartum depression (PPD). We provide a variety of services for pregnant and postpartum women.


These include support groups , a state-wide support line, and resources. There are POEM support groups that meet in various locations throughout Ohio.

The groups are moderated by the group founders or mothers who have gone through the POEM mentor training program. I am passionate about supporting moms whether that be connecting them with resources, helping them at home or answering questions. We focus on valuing, honoring and supporting mothers, not only in words, but in action. The Afterglow is a postpartum support group for new moms with babies anywhere between the ages of 0-months.


New moms and their babies gather to share their experiences and support one another in the early days of parenting. Join the registry and share your listing as a mental health provider, a healthcare provider, childbirth professional, or support group. Being a mother is one of the hardest jobs anyone can do, struggling with mental health can make a hard job seem impossible.
