How to overcome the feeling of hopelessness? Why do I feel hopeless? What is the meaning of hopelessness? Alienation (Attachment). Forsakenness (Attachment and Survival).
Uninspired (Attachment and Mastery). Powerlessness (Mastery). Oppression (Mastery and Attachment). Limitedness (Mastery and Survival).
When one or more of these elements are under threat, we begin to feel ‘hopeless’. Hopelessness is a destructive emotion that can significantly affect your well-being. Chronic fatigue syndrome. Most Common Causes of Hopelessness.
What can cause feelings of hopelessness? Some Veterans’ distress may be related to very traumatic events like the death of someone from their unit, seeing people die, or sexual assault or abuse. Other Veterans’ difficulties may be the result of a major setback such as a divorce or job loss. Your hopelessness becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. So, try something different.
First, make the decision to doubt your hopelessness. Simply entertain the notion that you could be wrong. And then, with that inkling of doubt, decide to act against your hopelessness. Most people who feel hopeless have depression, and untreated depression is the number one cause for suicide.
People often express hopelessness in statements that they make, such as the following: Things will never get better. If that were the case, you would have no free will. There are no solutions to my problems. This lie is usually a narrative you were raised to believe in from a very young age and thus your brain over the years has become wired to look for signs and signals that support your belief in this false narrative, leading you to make daily decisions which support this lie. Failing or deteriorating physiologic conditions ( Cancer, AIDS).

This is partially due to the fact that when people experience trauma, they often come to conclusions about themselves and life that make sense in the context of the trauma, but are a distortion of reality when they are still held later,. But, it does mean that we can believe that God is doing a redemptive work. This word “redemptive” means that God does not waste a hurt or disappointment. It is my opinion that that the feeling of hopelessness can also be caused by early childhood traumas where you were powerless over life. The causes of homelessness reflect an intricate interplay between structural factors, systems failures and individual circumstances.
Homelessness is usually the result of the cumulative impact of a number of factors, rather than a single cause. The first thing I thought of this morning was killing myself. Literally, as consciousness slowly overtook my brain thoughts of suicide were all that were there.
I don’t particularly like to admit it and I don’t like to talk about it, but I do.
