A specific phobia , formerly called a simple phobia , is a lasting and unreasonable fear caused. A phobia is an excessive and irrational fear reaction. If you have a phobia , you may experience a deep sense of dread or panic when you encounter the source of your fear.


Many - phobia lists circulate on the Internet, with words collected from indiscriminate sources, often copying each other.

Also, a number of psychiatric websites exist that at the first glance cover a huge number of phobias, but in fact use a standard text to fit any phobia and reuse it for all unusual phobias by merely changing the name. However, there are three types of phobia recognized by the American. As you may notice while you browse through this list, most specific phobias fall into one of four major categories: fears of the natural environment, fears related to animals, fear related to medical treatments or issues, and fears related to specific situations.


The phobia typically in a rapid onset of fear and is present for more than six months. The Phobic person often tries to fight his phobia leading to greater form of anxiety and also experiences extreme fatigue in the process. Simply put: Phobia = Fear². There are several types of phobias. The common types of phobias can be divided into ‘simple’ phobias or ‘social’ phobias.


Do you have any idea what is Phobia ? My interest is in the names only. All the phobia names on this list have been found in some reference book. They are much more than normal fear and around million people in the US have a phobia.

The three types of phobias are social phobia (fear of public speaking, meeting new people, or other social situations), agoraphobia (fear of being outside), and specific phobias (fear of particular items or situations).


Social phobia is a fear Of social situations – it’s a fear public humiliation or embarrassing oneself in front of others. Ultimately, someone with social phobia fear that people they do not know may judge them, which would cause them to have anxiety. It is a type of anxiety disorder which can precipitate a panic attack. The five major types of anxiety disorders are: Generalized Anxiety Disorder Generalized Anxiety Disorder, GA is an anxiety disorder characterized by chronic anxiety, exaggerated worry and tension, even when there is little or nothing to provoke it. But the above explanations should give you a better understanding of the types of anxiety disorders that affect millions of people all over the world.
