Baby blues day 10

Taking care of mom is the best way to decrease the symptoms of the “baby blues.

I just had my baby days ago, I was in hospital for nights and only felt the baby blues on the 4th day after arriving home. How are the baby blues treated? For some mums these feelings pass in a few hours, for others it can last a few days.


Some even find the baby blues kick in a bit later when their babies are nearer two weeks old and they thought they’d escaped it. But whenever it happens, it doesn’t mean you have post-natal depression. Commonly referred to as the “ baby blues ”, this is a normal part of the challenging transition into motherhood. It’s probably the last thing you expected to feel after the joy and elation of having your baby.


My day old baby falls asleep as soon as she latches or when I try to keep her awake she feeds on one breast for more than 1. I seem to be constantly breast feeding her. I dont want to take formula milk shortcut, but I succumb sometimes. However, this feeling passes in a day or two and is different from postnatal depression. But, what if the normal blues don’t disappear after two weeks following delivery, or what if the feelings become more intense?

Unlike the baby blues , PPD doesn’t go away on its own. PPD can make it hard for you to get through the day , and it can affect your ability to take care of your baby , or yourself.
