Postpartum anger towards baby

Typically, when we think of postpartum depression (PPD), we think of sadness, despair, weepiness, and hopelessness. But depression can also be characterized by irritability, frustration, anger , and even rage. These feelings may be directed toward your partner, your baby , your other children, or yourself. Postpartum rage can be quite unsettling for women struggling with it.


One thing that can be helpful is to understand a bit about where the anger is coming from. For me, PPA looked like anger and emotion that came flying out at any given time.

Anger in account of postpartum depression may be observed in the form of fighting, yelling, having hostile feelings towards others, constantly arguing, chronic dissatisfaction, feelings of being tappe full of guilt and even being resentful. I think I’m having postpartum depression aimed at my husband. I can’t stand to be around him, for him to touch me, hold my han kiss me. I would rather him be away than around me.
