What are some examples of phobias? How are the most common phobias or fears treated? What phobia is the fear of being alone? The term phobia refers to a group of anxiety symptoms brought on by certain objects or situations. A specific phobia , formerly called a simple phobia , is a lasting and unreasonable fear caused.


Fear of heights, fear of driving, fear of spiders - these are specific phobias.
