Feeling sad in pregnancy

Why Do You Feel Sad During Pregnancy? Is it normal to feel sad during first trimester? How does it feel to be depressed during pregnancy? Is crying Alot bad during pregnancy? However, it is when you start feeling sad or having thoughts of suicide or hopelessness for periods of time lasting two weeks or more that you can consider yourself actually depressed.


These feelings are not harmful to your unborn child unless you become so down that you start.

Feeling sad during pregnancy is not something unusual for women. There are several factors which cause depression and anxiety in pregnant women. For mostly there is a societal pressure when you have to behave up to the expectations of your friends and family members even if you are feeling down inside.

Pregnancy is supposed to be one of the happiest times of a woman’s life, but for many women, this is a time of confusion, fear, stress, and even depression. Many of the signs of depression mimic pregnancy symptoms. It can be hard to determine what is normal fatigue in pregnancy and what is actually depression, which can lead to an under-reporting of the problem.

The website healthtalk has video and written interviews of women talking about their emotions in pregnancy. I am feeling so sad and am losing hope. All tests have been BFN. I am DPO today and AF is expected. About of moms will feel sad or anxious after having a new baby, and these feelings usually resolve within two weeks.

This week I am opening up about my pregnancy depression. I have had constant feelings of sadness since getting pregnant. Many people talk about postpartum depression but pregnancy depression can also happen with the change in hormones.


I completely understand how all of you feel.

The Bright side is that it can and probably will get better. You are not a bad person for feeling this way.
