Feeling down for no reason

People who have mood disorders experience emotional shifts. When you are in school, and not doing well in class, you might feel down. Depression can appear suddenly or gradually. It can be related to a situation (as in adjustment disorders) or there may be no reason at all.


You may be aware that you feel bad or not like your usual self, but you may not be aware that what you are feeling is clinically significant depression.

Focus on your breathing. When we get very stressed we tend to take short, shallow breaths. The problem is, this only encourages our body’s ‘fight or flight‘ response which ends up prolonging our feeling of stress. If you feel depressed for two weeks or more, seek a medical consult to rule out or treat underlying biological. This is why you feel down all the time for no apparent reason.
