Many people in the general public and the media have a very stereotypical image of what OCD is all about. Individuals with OCD are seen as people who either wash. You might obsess over questions like What’s the meaning of life?
Identifying subtypes of Pure OCD can be very difficult. Symptoms manifest differently for each sufferer. Most sufferers wear themselves out trying to find , or try to get the thoughts out of their heads, but these are the worst ways to deal with OCD. As mentioned previously, there are no to existential or any other obsessive questions.
Though my existential thoughts weren’t triggered by a book or anything, I had been suffering from a different subset of OCD and when I defeated that theme it wanted something else and it found existential - worst thing about existential is there are no real concrete to the questions so it’s just a big cycle! Whats bothering me now is the whole issue of time and we only really have the presen. This does not mean, of course, that all anxiety is healthy. An existential crisis is a moment at which an individual questions the very foundations of his or her life: whether his or her life has any meaning, purpose or value.
Every human has significance and deserves love. Although this realization is inherently distressing, many existential thinkers view this form of anxiety as healthy and productive. Its multi-faceted character can be complicated and hard to understand.
It’s not just about worry, but it’s also about examination within this rumination. With the case of existential obsessions, the thoughts center around existential or philosophical topics. I hope you’re able to find some here. There’s actually a specific branch of therapy devoted to existential dilemmas and anxiety. I couldn't go to school, I couldn't leave the house, I couldn't be alone. The short answer is: yes!
