What to do to not be depressed

How do you Make Yourself not depressed? How to not be lazy and sad? I know that place way too well, and I work my butt off to stay out of the D-zone. You may think it’s not for you or not possible for you, but do some research.

Well, a person above me did give good advice. Use skype to talk and look at your family. You probably already know this, but skype has a free webcam function where you and your family can talk and see each. There are a number of phrases that are sometimes used with good intentions but can actually make a person with depression feel worse. It takes courage to speak openly about the pain they feel.

If someone responds with doubt or disbelief, it may make them feel like talking about their depression is not safe. A depressed person legitimately can’t function like a mentally health person. Pestering or shaming them about it will only hurt, not help.


Do not let the bullies decide the outcome of your life. You have so much more to offer the world. In many occasions when someone is bullying, they are trying to find a way to cope or to deal with issues in their own lives that they cannot control. They feel as though they are gaining control by putting you down.


Even if you have the best of intentions, sometimes its hard to know what to say to a person with depression. Expect your mood to improve gradually, not immediately. Things I Do Every Day to Beat Depression.


Do not expect to suddenly “snap out of” your depression. Often during treatment for depression , sleep and appetite will begin to improve before your depressed mood lifts. Postpone important decisions, such as getting married or divorced or changing jobs, until you feel better. It gets in the way of everyday life, causing tremendous pain, hurting not just those suffering from it but also impacting everyone around them. These feelings are all normal.


We don’t feel like we would be very good company feeling the way we do , and we really don’t have the desire or energy to do anything anyway. This may be especially true for those who have been depressed since early childhood. In reality, depression can take more forms than just a feeling of profound sadness.
