Postnatal support groups

Each state or country page offers information on how to contact PSI coordinators, crisis hotlines, support groups and events in that area. We also have specialized coordinators for Dads, Military Families, Spanish-speaking families, and Arabic-speaking Families Our volunteers will contact you within hours. Support groups are helpful for anyone suffering from postpartum depression. Because support groups happen in an inclusive environment, they help those affected by PPD feel accepte understood and validated in their struggles.


Research has indicated that social support is a major buffer of postpartum depression.

Yet little is known concerning women’s perceptions on social support during the postpartum period. The objective of this study was to explore postpartum women’s views and experiences with social support following childbirth.
